“The information Tanya has shared with me about Myofascial Release just makes good sense! I'm particularly attracted to the concept of a whole body approach to healing. Hence, I came in with frequent finger numbing and some shoulder pain and knew Tanya would look beyond my fingers and shoulder to get to the imbalance or blockage causing the problem. Her careful work released much tension in my chest, neck and lower jaw - tension I didn't know I had! We reviewed important posture issues as well. For days afterward, I experienced an overall lightness in my being, as if I was taller. I felt like smiling, and definitely experienced myself as a "nicer" person. “I came to Tanya with a neck injury that was taking a long time to heal, and the first thing she did (after giving me a long look over) was to go work on my thighs. Then, she leaned on my abdomen for what seemed like forever before finally getting around to the area of my complaint. “Through the years I have tried chiropractic, massage, and acupuncture for relief of headaches, neck and shoulder pain, tendonitis in my arm and major hip pain that has been blamed on twins for the past 15 years! “I have suffered with degenerative disc disease for many years. I have struggled with varying levels of pain and limited function. I first came across MFR several years ago and along with other therapies I was receiving simultaneously, I had a tremendous improvement. In fact I was able to get out of pain and maintain a normal level of function with no pain for over a year. However, I did not know how much of a role MFR played in my recovery.
I re-injured my back early this year. Right after the injury I had a significant personal loss of a loved one. Since that time I have been depressed and mostly home bound. The pain has been between 4-9 every day. I have not been able to stand up and at times I have been unable to even get out of bed. I have been taking pain medication and need assistance to do even the most basic self care. I went to my primary care doctor who gave me the pain meds. I went to a spine specialist where I had another MRI and tried getting an injection in my spine. They then suggested additional spinal injections, a nerve burn, and if unsuccessful I was scheduled to have surgery.
I remembered the MFR and began to seek a therapist to see if it could again help the situation. I found Tanya and I had a very different experience than before. At times the therapy was painful; however, with guidance I learned how to breathe through the pain and feel what else is going on. I began to have emotional releases both on the table and for days afterwards at home. Just as I learned to breathe through the pain on the table I learned to breathe through the emotional pain. It was amazing to recognize and feel how my attention to the areas of pain allowed me to get beyond and both the physical and emotional pain began to dissipate. I have identified other emotional issues that I was not even aware of, it has been incredible. I have continued to get therapy weekly and I have consistently made progress on both fronts. I am now on the lower end of the pain scale (2-4), I no longer take pain medication on any kind of regular basis. I have begun to stand up straight for at least an hour or two per day and am mostly upright for the remainder. I can cook for myself again and I am starting to stretch and do other moderate activity. At this point I am taking all other injections, the nerve burn and the surgery off the table.
I plan to continue with MFR to identify and deal with my physical and emotional blockages and help myself to not only recover from this relapse but to build a strong foundation so that I can continue to improve, grow stronger and hopefully keep from relapsing again.”

“I am a 56 year old woman. I have not been very kind to my body most of my life. I was a dancer for 14 years in my youth, I was a cheerleader, a tennis player, a water skier and a snow skier. I am currently a rancher, horseback rider and an offshore fisherman. I grew up with 4 brothers and as a girl, thought I could do everything they could do, so I did. I never appreciated, until I reached the age that I am, what a blessing flexibility, agility and living a life free of pain was. As a result of poor choices made in my diet throughout my life, I have developed diabetes. It has had grave effects on my health. My feet are numb from neuropathy and I have experienced swelling in my extremities. I have sustained injuries in all the sports I participated in, injuries to my neck, back and hips, and had foot pain constantly. I began to have someone come and do MFR therapy on my horses.
